Unbreakable Bond: Celebrating Siblings Day with Love and Gratitude

Unbreakable Bond: Celebrating Siblings Day with Love and Gratitude

The best friend and companion next to our parents are the siblings. Silly fights, funny smiles and evil pranks are the best ways to express our childhood years with our siblings.

Some people are blessed with a sibling in their life – a best friend who knows you in and out, who has been through every situation with you and who will have your back no matter what. Well, I’ve been lucky enough to have two of these people in my life and today I’m giving them a huge shout out on National Siblings Day.

I have two brothers and am eldest of the three. Sometimes I give them advice and am protective, sometimes they get irritated and sometimes I get angry when they do something wrong. But inspite of all these, the one thing constant among us is LOVE. Because they know behind my advice and anger, is love and care.

“To the outside world, we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other’s hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.”
_Clara Ortega

As a mother, I want to introduce the same things to my child by giving her a sibling and a friend for the rest of her life.

Pregnancy and labour are very tedious, and motherhood, is an overwhelming feeling but is definitely difficult. Many of us would like to settle in for one child but as you get used to the responsibility of one child you tend to think of having another.

By growing up with brothers and sisters, your child creates countless memories that bring them closer to each other and probably make them best friends, especially as they enter adulthood.

A life with sibling is late night ice-creams, pick and drop facility, being bodyguards, blanket snatching, maggi sharing, an ear to our daily nonsense, irritation and tolerance, bitching about our parents, innovation to really crazy ideas and so much more.

This year I plan to celebrate Siblings Day by doing a movie marathon with my brothers and including some pranks (wink wink). How  would you like to celebrate this day with your sibling?
